  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 1 medium carrot, finely diced
  • ½ cup finely diced onion
  • 10 habanero peppers, stems removed
  • ¾ cup distilled white vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt, to taste

How to Make Habanero Sauce?

1. Drizzle a saucepan with oil and heat over medium.
2. Add the peeled garlic cloves and cook until softened and brown on the exterior.
3. Toss in the carrot and onion.
4. Cook while stirring until they develop some color. Color equals flavor.
5. Toss in the habanero peppers and stir.
6. Pour in the distilled white vinegar, water, sugar and salt. Stir.
7. Bring to a boil.
8. Reduce to a simmer.
9. Cover and leave to simmer for 10-12 minutes or until carrots are fork tender.
10. Transfer to a blender or food processor.
11. Blend/process until smooth. Add more water if needed.
12. Use immediately or store in an airtight container before refrigerating.
