Easy Cheese Sauce

Delicious broccoli with cheese sauce

Everyone should have a basic cheese sauce recipe on hand. Cheese sauce comes in handy when making a plethora of dishes. In addition to being versatile, who doesn’t like something cheesy every once in a while? Cheese is delicious and kind of indulgent in a casual way. It is also salty and just plain good! The basic cheese sauce we’re familiar with is an American take on French fundamentals. Anyone who has made a cheese sauce before knows that it starts with a béchamel which is a mother sauce in French cuisine. Cheese is added to this classic French sauce until it melts down and forms a cheesy sauce. Almost any type of cheese can be added including Swiss, gruyere and mozzarella but cheddar is always better. Cheddar gives the sauce a sharpness that appeals to almost everyone’s taste buds and yields a very tasty sauce.
